- All castors are fitted with non-marking tyres.
- Anti-static castors are fitted only where specified. These can be identified by a yellow thread guard or a yellow mark on the edge of the tyre.
- Castors are selected dependant on the specific application, i.e. cushioned castors offer a smoother ride for heavier loads and delicate equipment, whilst heavy duty towing castors are fitted to trolleys with tow bars.
Maintenance of Castors.
- Castors and wheel bearings do not require any maintenance. The use of oil will breakdown the grease applied to the bearing and drastically reduce the life of the castor.
- Where anti-static castors are fitted, the tyre will require periodic cleaning to remove any dirt to ensure a good contact between the tyre and the floor.
